Model 2001-00267 is an Nx6 Talk Show System hybrid only for connection to 3 ISDN U lines, with analog I/O and support for Livewire Audio-over-IP. Nx hybrids now include Assistant Producer call screening software and PhoneBOX NX Lite by Broadcast Bionics for more information and greater control of your talk shows. Control surfaces are sold separately.

The Nx family of Talkshow Systems is setting new standards for studio telephone interface systems. The latest generation of hybrid technology and processing by Omnia results in the cleanest, most consistent call quality ever. The Nx6 is the compact 6-line version of the Nx12, designed to give smaller studios a powerful edge with their telephone interface system.

Inside both Nx6 and Nx12 are four advanced digital hybrids, each with its own AGC, noise gate, and caller override dynamics using carefully-tuned DSP algorithms. Each also includes DDEQ, a sophisticated multi-band equalizer, which analyzes and adjusts audio spectral characteristics from all varieties of phone sets and connection paths so calls sound smooth and consistent. The Nx Series hybrids also incorporate special echo cancellation for tricky VoIP and cellular calls. The possibility for feedback in open speaker applications is virtually eliminated thanks to an adaptive function unique to Telos.

With its four hybrids, two Program-on-Hold inputs, and two sets of analog I/O, the Nx6 can serve one studio with one or two phone faders and high-quality conferencing for up to four callers. (More are possible, but without individual hybrids and processing.) The Nx12 is better suited for a two-studio mode to handle the telephone needs for two stations simultaneously. With its four inputs and outputs, the optional AES interface module offers direct access to the individual hybrids.

Since the Ethernet connection can support a large number of channels, direct access to the individual hybrids is also possible in a Livewire-equipped studio. An Axia Element console can control the Nx6/Nx12 over the network with either the Call Control Module for the traditional Telos two-column operation style or Europhone Modules for a fader-per-hybrid operating style. (It is also possible to access the four hybrids via a Livewire Node.)

In a Livewire networked system, one Ethernet RJ-45 connects all necessary signals: up to four hybrid inputs, four hybrid outputs, two Program-on-Hold inputs, and all needed control.

You can connect up to eight control surfaces, with the Nx6/Nx12 directly powering as many as four. Compatible control surfaces are the Desktop Director, Call Controller or Console Director. Optional external power supplies provide power for long cable runs or additional controllers.

The Nx6 connects to as many as 6 analog POTS telephone lines or up to 3 ISDN BRI lines (which would provide 6 caller channels). A digital switch matrix inside connects the lines to hybrids.
