Product Description

The Exstreamer 100 is a member of the Barix Exstreamer product family of versatile Audio over IP codecs (encoder/decoder) for use in a wide field of applications, from broadcast to in-store, from distribution of music in hotels to SIP telephone paging applications.

Based on reliable, embedded, low power, solid state technology, the devices are ideally suited for 24/7 operation, do not need cooling or maintenance, and are not prone to usual issues caused by operating systems.

Ethersound (ES-100/Spkr) support allows the devices to be used as a dual channel receiver/decoder in realtime audio distribution applications which target ultra low latency for live audio.

All models provide audio output on line level RCA connectors and headphone jack. I/O also includes a serial port (RS-232) and Ethernet. The Extreamer 100 can be controlled an optional IR remote control kit, and external flash memory can be connected via USB.

Various standard software packages for specific applications are available for download from the Barix website, from applications optimized for retail and broadcast to a full featured SIP client, suitable as a paging interface. Custom software can easily be written, based on existing packages from Barix or freely in the ABCL (Basic dialect) scripting language.
