On September 30, 2010, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced the adoption of major changes to the Emergency Alert System (EAS), incorporating a new digital messaging format, the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP).
Broadcasters will need to purchase new equipment to comply with the new standard. The deadline for compliance has been extended to June 30, 2012. While this issue unfolds, we've put together this EAS equipment guide to help you along the road to CAP compliance. Please contact us at any time to discuss your options.
